Still Here!

OK, so I am really bad at this and my wife has not made any attempt to learn how to use this thing. So our holidays were great. Over the past month we have been busy during the week in the evenings but I have to say that we have had an opportunity to spend some very valuable family time with each other on the weekends. I have really enjoyed the past month or so because of this time together.
On the job front I am still plugging away. Probably what will happen is eventully AT&T will sell off these markets to Verizon and then I will be absorbed back into AT&T and either offered a job or let go. But we are hearing that the government might still be several months away from approving the AT&T/Verizon deal. And after that deal is approved, AT&T has agreed to run the markets for Verizon for up to a year. So I could conceivably keep my job for another year or more, which is just fine by me.
We have pretty much decided that no matter what happens with my job we are going to stay in Fort Wayne. The only way this would change is if there was some chance of a lifetime opportunity and even then we may pass on it. We are just so happy with our kids' school, our church, our friends and being so close to most of our family. We have prayed about it, discussed it and have come to the conclusion that we are not willing to uproot our family for my career. This is probably not in line with conventional, modern-day thinking but we feel a real peace about it.
On the adoption front we are making some really good headway on our dossier. We have probably 75% of the documents done and plan to complete the rest in the very near future. The one big thing is that we have to wait for an appointment to go to our nearest United States Citizenship and Immigration Services office in Indianapolis to have biometric fingerprints done. We have received notice from the Department of Homeland Security that they have received our application, now we just have to wait for the appointment to be set.
We got an email from our agency last week and it sounds like the wait is hovering at right around 1 year. So we are motivated to get this dossier done so hopefully we will be coming home with our child in the first half of 2011.
Hope all is well with all who are readying this. Thank for your support.
